Hi All,
I think I’m becoming more and more like the The 3am Teacher each night. I wasn’t so bad at first, but now 1:00am is early. Oh, how I love sweet summertime. Who else has slipped into this late night summer routine?
While I was up way past my bedtime last night, I made these fun comprehension strategy posters. I’ve been wanting to make one for each strategy for a long time. I already have a few hand-drawn strategy posters, but I figure these will be great to laminate and keep in a permanent spot.
Plus, I bought these cute little characters awhile back from JW Illustrations, and I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with them. I think these posters are perfect for them.
You can grab all of these posters for free by clicking on any of the images below shop.
Has anyone else been staying up way past their bedtime working on teacher things?

Wow! Thank you so much! I have been getting up early instead of sleeping in and organizing my teacher stuff!
These are adorable.

I, too, have slipped into "vampire-mode", as my family has so lovingly referred to my summer sleeping pattern. Now that it's July, I'm (ever so slowly) trying to get back to "normal" so my system doesn't go into shock come August:) These posters are fabulous…your time was put to valuable use!:)
I've been facing the same problem with summertime!! Thank you for these wonderful posters. I love them!

My sleep schedule is so messed up! Sadly, I've memorized the late night tv schedules! But I see were both getting a lot done!
Thanks for sharing these!

I have also been doing my best work late at night. I'm totally off my school schedule. I'm kind of glad you are, too, because these posters are awesome! Thanks so much for sharing. I bought that clip art, too, and LOVE it!

You know I am up all night texting/messaging you! These are awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Those are so adorable!! 🙂
You are not alone in the staying up too late. Last night was the first night in a month, that I was in bed before 12:30. I don't even want to think about trying to get back into a routine.

I super-de-duper heart these, and can *totally* relate to the up-too-late syndrome. I went to sleep last night at 3am.
I'm a night owl anyway, though — even during student-teaching internship I was regularly running on three hours of sleep!

Thank you so much for sharing your hard (and talented) work! They are adorable. 🙂 I plan to email these to our UPS Store as they will make them 11 X 14 for me for a very small price. They will be perfect in my first grade classroom. And yes I stay up way to late and sometimes get to sleep in. I have taught for 28 years and have never had an internal clock!
Thank you! Your posters are so cute, and perfect for first grade. I appreciate the free download.

Thank you for the posters. They are so cute. I was wondering if you have a way of making them in Spanish. I teach a dual language class and language arts is done in Spanish. Thank you again.
Thanks! These are awesome! I hope I can catch some creativity from some of you…
Love these, thank you! I have posters with the same strategies but they are boring and no fun!
I find your blog via Pinterest and I'm very interested in what you propose and make. Thanks a lot for sharing your ideas !
I've just translated your poster in french, for my personal use in my only classroom (if that bother you, please let me know).
Lyndsey! Your blog has quickly become a new favorite. I love your freebies & bright colors. I started a new board on my Pinterest page for cute, free things to print & have pinned a few of your activities. 🙂 Thanks for sharing!!

These are SO adorable! I have already printed them. Is there a poster for Determining Importance?
These are super cute! Thank you so much for supplying them for free. This is my first year of teaching first grade and I am VERY excited. Good luck on your new school year.

This is WONDERFUL!!! Thank you sooo much for making this available for everyone!!!
Thank you for your creative and cute posters. I'm working on updating my reading focus wall and will add these!
I am SO excited to use these in my classroom- my school really focuses on these strategies. Thank you SO much for taking the time to make them and then offer them to everyone.
Thank you so much for posting these. I just printed them and noticed that synthesizing is spelled wrong. It is an /e/ not an /a/. You might want to fix it if it will be posted in your classroom.
So cute! Thanks for sharing:-)
Thank you so much for sharing these…they are just what I've been looking for! I can definitely relate to the late nights. It's even during school right now and I find myself working on an idea until 2 a.m. I get into something and just can't stop! Have a great week.

Thanks for sharing these! They are very useful and so cute! Any chance you could alter them for use in Australian classrooms – by replacing the z in synthesizing, visualizing, summarizing etc with an s??

Hey Lyndsey
Thank you so much for the free comprehension posters. I teach Grade 2 and they will love them. It's so nice to find colourful but easy to read posters for the children to refer to. I am working in Australia, I was wondering by any chance could you make some of your posters with Australia spelling, just the ones visualising, synthesising, summarising as we spell with an 's' instead of a 'z'? Thanks again 🙂
