FREE adjective activities (Read Aloud Series)

Have you ever read the book, Hairy, Scary, Ordinary? I use this book when teaching adjectives every year. My kids LOVE it. The text is simple and to the point, which is JUST what my little firsties need to help them learn adjectives. image Tomorrow, after we read the story, we’ll be watching this fun little video (TOTALLY OLD SCHOOL, and I love it!)

I’ll be using this helpful anchor chart to help solidify their understanding! image

Then, we’ll be completing this cute “One of a Kind” adjective craft all about ourselves. I used a large piece of black paper for the background and a white crayon to write the adjectives. Then, I glued the craft onto the paper. You can grab the craft templates below for FREE!

image We’ll be finishing off our morning with a little adjectives taste test activity using Oreo cookies and popcorn (you know I’ll be taste testing too!).

Also, I just finished my St. Paddy’s Day Making Inferences packet. It’s on sale until midnight tonight! I’ll be back tomorrow to share all about it, but you can find it here, if you’re interested now!

Happy (almost) Friday! What fun activities do you use to teach adjectives?
