Let’s Cut to the Common Core!

Hi Friends! I’m just here very quickly to tell you about a new feature I’ll be starting on my blog called, Let’s Cut to the Common Core! I’m nowhere near being an expert on the Common Core; however, I WILL share any resources that I’ve found or made with all of you. All of the Common Core resources on my blog are linked to this button so that you can quickly find them.

Today, I’m sharing some picture books I use to teach each first grade Common Core Reading Literature standard. These are not the ONLY books you can use to teach the standard, but these are ones I’ve found to work nicely. I also provided you with Common Core graphic organizers that go with each standard, as well.  Be sure to snag them at my TPT shop.

For a detailed list of all of the picture books I shared above, click on the link below. In the download, you’ll also find a free graphic organizer! Next time, I’ll share picture books for each Common Core Informational Text standard.

I love this idea! Any chance that you could align some of these to second grade one day? 😉

Your common core graphic organizer pack is my most favorite purchase from TpT (and I've made A LOT of purchases)!! I love how each page is labeled with the standard. It has saved me a ton of time!

This is great and very generous. Have you done this list of books that teach to the standard of informational text?

I know this is a pretty old post. But at the end of the post you said you were going to create a list of books for the RI standards. I have been searching your site and cannot find them. I love this resource and have almost all the books recommended for the RL standards. Thank you so much!
